Duration: 3 years
Entry Requirements: Master’s Degree or equivalent in a related field
Subject: Pedagogy, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Design, and Artificial Intelligence
General Description
The Ph.D. Program in Mind and Technologies in the Digital Society aims to deepen theoretical models, research methodologies, and applied tools within specific disciplinary frameworks, adopting a cross-disciplinary approach to the processes of social evolution related to the use of digital technologies.
More specifically, the program provides:
- Robust training in research paradigms related to the study of psychological and social processes in light of the latest scientific and technological developments;
- Advanced methodological competencies for analysing cognitive, emotional, and social processes in technology-mediated interactions;
- Research skills applied to the design of technologies aimed at fostering well-being, culture, and social coexistence;
- Research competencies focused on the prevention of risks associated with the problematic use of technologies.
Objectives
Given the interdisciplinary nature of the Ph.D., each doctoral student is supported throughout their training and research path by two supervisors: one from the field of psychological disciplines and one from another disciplinary field represented in the Doctoral Board.
Training programs are designed on an individual basis and include a core section common to all doctoral students, along with elective courses tailored according to the doctoral student’s research project and supervisors’ recommendations. These programs take into account the student’s entry-level competencies, the overall objectives of the doctoral course, and the specific research issues addressed in the dissertation.
